Make This a Chapter in My Book...

Growing up, everytime I had a good, philosphical thought, I'd shout "Make this a chapter in my book!" Well, it certainly is not a book, but it's close enough.

I've decided to document via blog all the random concepts I've come up with over the years. Having turned 21 not more than two weeks ago, I'm pretty much ready to take on the world - blog style. I really tried to fit in to the "my boyfriend dumped me, and I got a great deal on this plus I just sewed an entire wardrobe" world of blogging, but that didn't go over too well.

These posts are loaded with random (sometimes useless) facts that you can hopefully gather inspiration from! ...or atleast, a conversation starter or two. Give it a read, so that you won't be tempted to judge the "proverbial" book by its cover... or in this case, the "proverbial" blog by its URL.

Chapter 7: In the spirit of Cyber Monday

It's Cyber Monday... you know, the Monday following Black Friday when everyone who didn't find their great deals on foot turn to the wonderful world of the internets to salvage what bargains they can.

Well, in the spirit of this American "holiday", I've decided to post up some pretty awesome things I have come across recently. Who knows, maybe you would even decide to get one for yourself! *cough* I mean, for some else.... it is Christmas, isn't it? Darn.

First on my list of "OMG NO WAY" gifts is this great idea I saw advertised by Target...

  • Portable Charging Power Mat

This little guy wirelessly charges up to 3 Powermat-enabled devices simultaneously (plus one USB power port). By way of devices, this includes I-Phones, I-Pods, DS Lites/DSI, Blackberrys, Motorola/Samsung/LG/Palm/Bluetooth headsets and phones, GPS devices, and even some cameras! Folds for ultra-compact storage. Works with all Powermat receivers. Universal Powercube with 8 tips is included to enable you to charge hundreds of devices.

Buy it here for the (well, I think it's a steal) low price of $100.

Second thing I find necessary for any clerical office worker and/or college student is this... #2 on my list:

  • Pulse Smart Pen by Livescribe

This is pure awesomeness via writing utensil. The Pulse Smartpen records and links audio to what you write so you’ll never miss a word in a lecture or meeting again. Listen to your recordings by tapping on what you wrote. Search and share your notes from your computer. 4GB of memory captures approximately 400 hours of recorded audio. Comes with a USB mobile charging cradle, starter notebook of dot paper, a Smartpen case and a 3-D recording headset.

Crazy, write?! (notice my obvious play on words....). Although, be warned- this pen only works with livescribes special paper which probably isn't selling at a bargain price either.

Buy it here for the slightly thief-like price of $200.

Third... and might I say what an epic third it is... is this awesome piece of awesomeness that I ran across in the Sony store this weekend...

  • Sony's "Party-Shot" dock

My friends, this little camera accessory is a-maze-ing. "Relax and enjoy the party while the Party-shot™ personal photographer automatically takes your photos for you. Party-shot works with your TX1 or WX1 Cyber-shot® camera's Face Detection and Smile Shutter™ technologies to automatically take photos at the event. Intelligent composition uses the rule of thirds to compose great shots and motion detection seeks out movement to take the photo at the right moment. It's never been easier to see amazing results of those once in a lifetime candid moments."

No lie, I walk into the Sony store and this little guy is searching the store for the "picture perfect moment". When it finds the face of me, my mom, and sister, it centers, focuses, and then shoots! It was really like watching a robot... kinda creepy but a must have none-the-less. I guess the catch is you have to own the Sony camera in order for it to be compatable.... darn it.

Buy it here for the pure awesome price of $150.

And now, I have to tell you a sad, sad story. Traveling to work listening to the local music station, the DJ announces the possible new "fad" for kids this year.... something called.... *drumroll* Zhu Zhu hamsters. Now, the ebayer inside of me devulged a plan to purchase a handful of these little.... well, fake hamsters and hoard them till the parents of unrelenting brats would shell out just about any amount of money for these so called Zhu Zhu's.

My coworkers, however, remained unconvinced after googling "Zhu Zhu hamsters" and finding Amazon shock full of 'em. But will you take a look at this.... Wal-Mart's website shows EVERY SINGLE ZHU ZHU HAMSTER IS OUT OF STOCK!

So, for my fourth hot item this season, i present you with the....

  • Zhu-Zhu Pet

These 3 different Zhu Zhu Pets are motorized hamsters with their own unique personalities and whimsical sounds. Characters include Mr. Squiggles, Num Nums and Chunk. AND might I add, even target has no Zhu Zhu hamsters :( (moment of silence for that extra christmas bonus i let slip through my fingers....)

Finally, I am any shoe's #1 fan... but i have to draw the line. And the line has been drawn at my number four pretty awesome christmas gifts.... it would be the

  • MBT Shoes - "The Anti Shoe"

These disgracez to the fashion shoe industry are actually pretty impressive. Step. Rolling action. Step. Rolling action. This simple movement creates tremendous benefit. Helping solve knee and back problems, relieve tension in the neck, ease joint pains – and more or less in passing help to tone and shape firm buttocks and thighs. And burning more calories when standing and slow running compared to ordinary shoes.

Tight buns in exchange for your foot's dignity? .... it's a tough decision. These shoes are certainly a sight for sore eyes but with all those added benefits, how can you not consider it? Maybe you could pull it off by only wearing them in the secrecy of your own home?

These puppies (notice my pun on feet... ie "puppies") don't come cheap either - there truly is no such this as free buns of steel. Find them online or in Naturalizer stores ranging in price between $150 - $250.

Well, that concludes my Cyber Monday Holiday wishes! If I find anymore incredible awesomeness, i'll be sure to update this post so stay tuned and happy bargain hunting!

My Book

  • Why?
Why you ask? Not sure. I've always wanted to write down the randomness I think of, and even more so I would love to see who agrees with me and the other alternatives to my ideas.
  • Because?
Because you ask? Because I want to know what YOU think! Do you agree? Can you relate? Am I totally off the deep-end? Please, feel free to post your comments and opinions; and, who knows, maybe I'll feature them in the next blog post!
