Make This a Chapter in My Book...

Growing up, everytime I had a good, philosphical thought, I'd shout "Make this a chapter in my book!" Well, it certainly is not a book, but it's close enough.

I've decided to document via blog all the random concepts I've come up with over the years. Having turned 21 not more than two weeks ago, I'm pretty much ready to take on the world - blog style. I really tried to fit in to the "my boyfriend dumped me, and I got a great deal on this plus I just sewed an entire wardrobe" world of blogging, but that didn't go over too well.

These posts are loaded with random (sometimes useless) facts that you can hopefully gather inspiration from! ...or atleast, a conversation starter or two. Give it a read, so that you won't be tempted to judge the "proverbial" book by its cover... or in this case, the "proverbial" blog by its URL.

Chapter 6: How I Met Your Mother

First... this is a totally random post that has little to do with anything, but....

Ok, I have to let you guys in on the. funniest. show. ever. If you are ever feeling down/depressed/suicidal, you have got to rent the first season of this show and prepare for the marathon of lol's. Here's a description with the help of the almighty wikipedia. (Ps- what would the world/college students do without wikipedia!?)

The main character, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), in the year 2030 recounts to his son and daughter the events that led to his meeting their mother. How I Met Your Mother's other main characters are Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) ((my personal favorite)), and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan).

I mean, even theme song, a portion of "Hey Beautiful" by The Solids (of which the creators are members), is catchy. Believe me, after three episodes, you'll find yourself singing along... which isn't hard since there are no words. But moving on....

Some classics from the show (aside from the million plus hilarious quotes) include Barney's Bro Code (stated by Barney many times throughout the series, is a set of written rules for bros to follow, and has been published as a tie-in novel and also an audiobook). Me thinks this will make for a great Christmas stocking stuffer for the sister and her hubby who are just as in love with Barney as I am.

Barney's Blog: Throughout the series, Barney makes references to his blog. CBS hosts and updates a copy of Barney's Blog.

Swarley.com: In the episode
Swarley, Barney at the end tries to pretend he loves his new name to avoid being called Swarley again. Though it is not shown in the episode, there is a website called Swarley.com about it.

Anyways, I HIGHLY recommend this show. Do you all like it? Loooove it? Hate it? Regardless, my heart belongs to Barney Stintson! Give it a try!!

Best moments = Robin Sparkles' music videos. And now I have "Sandcastles in the Sand" stuck in my head!

  • Why?
Why you ask? Not sure. I've always wanted to write down the randomness I think of, and even more so I would love to see who agrees with me and the other alternatives to my ideas.
  • Because?
Because you ask? Because I want to know what YOU think! Do you agree? Can you relate? Am I totally off the deep-end? Please, feel free to post your comments and opinions; and, who knows, maybe I'll feature them in the next blog post!
